About
My name is Maddy Thurman
As an artist, my art is ever-changing; I prefer to use what medium best conveys my idea rather than what I’m most comfortable with. I draw inspiration for artwork and techniques from both the past and present, and my creativity when designing a piece. My work is often emotional or environmental in nature, drawing from what idea ignites me the most so that every piece is a unique expression of myself.

All About My Art
As humans, we experience a range of emotions that need to be expressed and messages that need to be heard. When I was young, I discovered finger painting and never stopped being creative from that day forward. Physical expressions of emotions came easily to me. Today, I use paint, ink, and 3D elements to reflect my reaction to the world in a physical form.
When I create my artwork, I start with an idea or feeling and then conduct research and sketching to develop it further. I’m endlessly doodling and coming up with ideas in my daily life and only what I veiw as the best make it through this stage. During this process, I chose the piece's most suitable medium and style. I draw inspiration from past and present artists to help me develope my work. After a few rounds of sketches and experimentation, I’ll start working on the final piece.
Life is full of beauty and emotions. Humor and seriousness are just a couple of the emotions we experience. My work captures these moments and feelings, sometimes with humor and sometimes with a more serious note. I want my art to convey my message and allow the viewer freedom to see their own. My artwork is my personal expression of emotions, but it's open for the viewer to experience and interpret in their own unique way.
